The former “Sächsische Landesbibliothek” and the former academic library were merged in 1996 to form the SLUB Dresden. The stock of the SLUB consists of more than 7 million units; therefore, the SLUB is counted among the biggest academic libraries in Germany.
The Caché technology will be examined within the next 6-12 months with regard to the project “Virtual specialized library of current art”. In line with the Campus program InterSystems provides the SLUB with the necessary license for this purpose.
