St. John's University, a small, private university in Bangkok, has been granting undergraduate and masters degrees in Computer Information Management for over ten years.
St. John's University uses Caché to train both teachers and students as an integral part of their database management courses, in order to satisfy the requirements of the Computer Information Management curriculum.
The program will include Caché in four main activities:
1. Faculty pedagogical development
2. Developing course materials, including lecture notes and laboratory exercises.
3. Caché as part of students projects requiring the use of object-oriented
database management system.
4. Caché as the object-oriented database management system of choice
Course Description: CIM 4204 -- Database Management
This course is comprised of lecture, hands-on laboratory learning, and independent
study. CIM 4204 examines the principles and structure necessary for designing
and using databases. The emphasis in this course is on general DBMS, databases
used in various industries, emerging trends in database programs, and examples
of DBMS software.
The course includes study of both relational and object-oriented databases,
and the roles of a database management system, a database administration, and
database analysis.
