At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, students are using Caché in the classroom in both the Engineering and the Health Informatics programs.

School of Engineering
In the School of Engineering, software engineering graduate students use cache to rapidly develop database-driven applications. In EE640, Object Oriented Design, EE751, Software Engineering Large Systems I and II, and EE657, Enterprise Information Architecture Engineering classes, students create web applications built on the Caché database engine in as little time as 45 minutes.

Health Informatics Program
In the Health Informatics Program, Professor Helmuth Orthner is using Caché in the classroom for both faculty development and student education. Dr. Orthner will use Caché in the Databases and Data Modeling HI601 curriculum to teach concepts of data modeling, architecture and administration. Dr. Orthner's students will apply their knowledge to current health information projects in prehosiptal emergency medical care.
